You're reading: Government auditors to check use of allocations for armed operation in east Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk on July 2 announced he had decided to send auditors to eastern Ukraine to check the use of funds allocated for the current military operation there.

“I have decided today to a send an ad hoc commission to the counterterrorist operation zone consisting of representatives of the Ministry Defense, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Policy and State Financial Inspectorate so that they give a direct report to be by telephone on how the billions that the government of Ukraine is allocating for national security and defense are being used,” Yatseniuk said in opening a Cabinet meeting in Kyiv.

He gave the commission three days to come up with the report and said staff reshuffling might follow.
