The Cabinet of Ministers has ordered the creation and maintenance of a tourist web portal in foreign languages called "Welcome to Ukraine," according to government resolution No. 888 of Nov. 7.

The government approved the plan of measures to boost Ukraine’s image and disseminate information about its tourism potential in the states that are represented in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee.

The State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts, the Foreign Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the State Agency for Investment and National Projects and other departments were instructed to create the new tourist portal. The project should be implemented in 2013-2015.

In addition, the plan envisages the creation of Web sites and television programs to cover events to prepare a bid to the IOC for the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Ukraine.

The strategy for the development of the sports and tourism industry for 2015-2022 is to be developed and approved by March 2014. This task was given to Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv and Chernivtsi Regional State Administrations.

The Youth and Sports Ministry was also ordered to put forward proposals on holding international competitions in Ukraine for the period until 2021. This ministry and a number of other departments should set up a working group on unimpeded access for persons with disabilities to sports facilities and infrastructure.

The resolution also foresees other measures to boost the tourist and investment attractiveness of Ukraine.
