The Ukrainian parliament intends to continue its reforms, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said to representatives of the International Monetary Fund.

“The Verkhovna Rada intends to continue reforms,” Groysman said at a meeting with the representatives and the representative office of the fund in Ukraine.

Groysman stressed that Ukraine is persistently fulfilling its obligations to its international partners and financial institutions.

He spoke about the importance of implementing decentralization reform in Ukraine which would ensure the success of reforms in other areas.

IMF Mission Chief for Ukraine Nikolay Gueorguiev, in turn, praised the efforts of the Verkhovna Rada leadership in ensuring the legislative process of reforms.

During the meeting, both sides discussed a number of draft laws to reform the financial system and the energy sector.

Discussing the reform of the energy sector, Groysman noted the need to establish economically justified tariffs and introduce an adequate system of social protection.
