You're reading: Gryshchenko: Brussels should decide where it wants to see Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko has said that the European Union should decide which place in the international relations it gives to Kyiv.

"We are often reproached that Ukraine should decide who it is to side with the EU or Russia. However, sometimes it seems that the EU should decide itself where it would like to see Ukraine," Gryshchenko said during in the international high-level debate "Ukraine-EU at the Rubicon" in Kyiv on May 18.

"I would like first to reassure the EU representatives – we won’t ask for membership prospect today," the minister said.

At the same time, Gryshchenko once again said that the European integration remained a priority for Ukraine.
