The European Union is ready to help Ukraine repay its debt for Russian gas supplies, EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger has said.
“Payment of the outstanding Ukraine bills is high up in the European Commission’s aid package,” Western media quoted him as saying on Tuesday.
According to reports, the package is to be adopted on Wednesday. It was not disclosed which amount Brussels is ready to allocate to repay Ukraine’s debt.
