Brussels – The current Ukrainian government can be described as one of the most professional in the history of the country, Head of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Kalman Mizsei has said.

There is much more hope now. I can’t guarantee anything, but there is much more hope, he told journalists.

Mizsei noted that in his dialogue with the Ukrainian government, he had already named the most important sectors under the mission’s mandate that need to be reformed.

According to Mizsei, reform in Ukraine has already started, as amendments to the law on the Prosecutor General’s Office and the judicial system have already been adopted. However, he said that constitutional reform and decentralization should be expedited.

The EU Advisory Mission was created in July 2013 for two years to provide advisory help to Kyiv in conducting civilian security reform.
