And prey tell what is the socio demographic of those that have died? How many would have died as a result of the common annual flu? What is the normal statistics for flu infections in Ukraine? Questions the media should be addressing.
"Influenza spreads around the world in seasonal epidemics, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands worldwide annually, and millions in pandemic years. On average 41,400 people died each year in the United States between 1979 and 2001 from influenza.[7]"
Ukraine has a long way to go before it reaches US levels
Yes, there is flu in Ukraine! Like the years before! The number of victims who unfortunately died is low, not high! Please compare with the statistics of Germany in the last twenty years (between 200 and 3000 each year in a very conservative estimation).
The only difference to last years epidemics is: Ukraine has presidential elections and there is nothing good to promise to the people. Thats why the incumbents need a national katastrophy which they can fight. Nice PR for politicians who can not find a way out of the economical crisis!
Besides, I would not be astonished, if some international pharmaceutical companies appear on the sponsoring lists for election campaigns...
