The heating season in Ukraine is to begin on November 1, however, the central heating systems will start work sooner in case of need, Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Andriy Bilousov said.

“The heating season in Ukraine is to begin on Nov. 1. However, if the temperature suddenly goes down, the heating systems will be switched on sooner,” the ministry’s press service quoted Bilousov as saying.

The temperature of the air in rooms of residential buildings will meet the requirements.

“The fixed temperature in flats [will be] no lower than 18 degrees above zero. And we hope that the measures taken by the government to reduce gas consumption and ensure the smooth heating period will let [us] meet the temperature requirements,” he said.
