The Higher Council of Justice has terminated the powers of Oleksandr Medvedko as a council member due to the end of his tenure as Ukraine's prosecutor general.

Twelve council members unanimously voted for the decision at a meeting on Monday.

Medvedko was a member of the Higher Council of Justice while holding the post of prosecutor general. He served as prosecutor general from Nov. 4, 2005 to Nov. 4, 2010.
