Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman will visit German Bundestag as soon as possible to reinforce the inter-parliamentary connections between Ukraine and Germany.
“[We] agreed that, having been invited by Mr. President [of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert] I will visit the Bundestag as soon as possible to establish the cooperation between the Ukrainian parliament and the Bundestag,” Hroisman said at a joint briefing with Lammert in Kyiv on Feb. 16.
According to him, during Lambert’s visit to Kyiv, the heads of the Ukrainian and German parliaments discussed a number of issues connected to the events in Donbas, reforms in Ukraine and the reinforcement of inter-parliamentary connections. Hroisman added that they also discussed the direction of reforms in Ukraine.
I’m happy that the Verkhovna Rada Chairman accepted my invitation to visit the Bundestag, where we will be able to achieve specific actions regarding what has been said in this joint statement, Lammert said.
“The heads of the Verkhovna Rada and the Bundestag confirm their intent to activate inter-parliamentary cooperation on all levels,” reads the joint statement issued by the heads of the parliaments.
