Rostov-on-Don - A humanitarian corridor was re-opened on Sunday, July 27 to evacuate encircled Ukrainian servicemen to the Ukrainian side via Russian territory.

“The Ukrainian side again requested assistance in evacuating the dead and the wounded. Six wounded and four killed Ukrainian servicemen were brought to the Russian checkpoint Novoshakhtinsk,” spokesman for the Rostov Regional Border Department Vasily Malayev told Interfax.

The Ukrainian military is also prepared to hand over three wounded men through the Gukovo checkpoint.

Ukrainian servicemen will proceed from southeastern Ukraine engulfed by fighting to the Matveyev Kurgan checkpoint, where they will be handed over to the Ukrainian side, Malayev said.
