You're reading: Humanitarian trucks leave Sukhumi for Donbas

SUKHUMI - A humanitarian truck convoy departed from the Abkhazian capital city of Sukhumi for Donetsk and Luhansk on Dec. 25 afternoon.

The trucks “are carrying 50 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including 23 tonnes of mandarins,” a source in the Abkhazian Emergency Situations Ministry told Interfax.

Abkhazians have also donated food, bottled water, warm clothes, children’s footwear and toys.

The Abkhazian Emergency Situations Ministry was raising donations since early December. The humanitarian aid is being transported by trucks of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry.
