You're reading: Hyundai Company apologizes to Ukrainian passengers for discomfort in using high-speed trains

Hyundai Company has offered its apologies to Ukrainian passengers for discomfort during the use of South Korean high-speed trains and the company has started working on the liquidation of malfunctions, which, first of all, are linked to bad weather, the press service of the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry has reported, referring to a letter of the company sent to Ukrzaliznytsia and Ukrainian High-Speed Railway Company. 

The press service said that today the program on the preparation of Hyundai trains for winter conditions has been introduced and over the past two days the number of malfunctions has been reduced.

Hyundai also increases the number of specialists: this week seven specialists will join the servicing team. In addition, Hyundai Rotem Company plans to hire more Ukrainian specialists for a servicing team at the Darnytsia depot.

“This is our first winter in Ukraine, which will show us the spheres for improvement [our weaknesses]. Each type of transport has problems in winter, such as delays and cancelations of trips,” reads a press release of the ministry, referring to the letter.

The company is also ready to work on the drawbacks revealed and it expressed confidence that jointly with specialists of Ukrainian High-Speed Railway Company, all of the technical problems which appear will be successfully settled.

“In addition, we should say that Hyundai was the only company which managed to supply trains to Ukraine in the rather short-terms – within 18 months, so that Ukraine could launch the trains by the start of the Euro 2012 European football championship,” reads the ministry’s press release.
