Intercity+ trains produced by South Korea's Hyundai Rotem will by October 15 be prepared for uninterrupted operation in the autumn-winter period.

According to the press service of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia, such guarantees were given by the representatives of Hyundai Corporation at a meeting with Ukrzaliznytsia CEO Serhiy Bolobolin on October 3.

According to Bolobolin, the readiness of Ukrainian railways for work in winter is 97-98 percent at individual units, and in particular the high-speed infrastructure is ready for operation in winter.

“As for the rolling stock, all of the deficiencies revealed during the operation of the electric trains have almost been eliminated,” he said.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the planned preparations of the electric trains for the autumn-winter period include 27 types of technical work. In particular, new collectors will be installed in the trains, which will stabilize the current collection process in high-speed mode. New air filters and new cabin window units were also installed in the trains.

In addition, Hyundai Rotem is working on strengthening the bumpers of trains, replacing the reflective bands on the frontal part of the head wagons.

As reported, Ukraine operates ten Intercity+ electric trains produced by Hyundai Rotem.
