Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed Vice-Admiral Yuriy Ilyin to the post of the commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
A relevant decree was posted on the president's Web site on Friday.
Prior to this, Ilyin was the acting commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
