You're reading: Income Ministry: Some 1,703 Ukrainian millionaires declare revenues

 Some 350,400 citizens of Ukraine have submitted declarations on their property status and income received in 2013, declaring income of Hr 22.4 billion. According to the press service of the Income and Tax Ministry of Ukraine, 1,703 Ukrainians declared income last year exceeding Hr 1 million. The total amount of their declared income is Hr 8 billion. The largest number of millionaires is in Kyiv (761) - collectively they declared Hr 3.9 billion.

 Wages account for the largest part in the structure of citizens’ income (Hr 8.2 billion). Inheritances or gifts account for Hr 4.8 billion, and income from leasing property – Hr 555.1 million. The sale of movable and immovable property brought in Hr 2.4 billion in income, and operations with investment assets – Hr 599.8 million.

The ministry notes that of the total amount of declared income Hr 472.1 million of tax on individuals’ income was paid to the budget, which is 21.3% higher than in the corresponding period last year. Some 83,100 people used the right to a tax credit, and they will be refunded Hr 105.5 million.

“Eight days remains to the completion of the declaration campaign. The last day for filing tax returns is April 30, 2014. We ask citizens to declare their income on time,” the ministry said in a statement.
