Dnipropetrovsk, Sept. 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine will contribute to transport infrastructure development in Dnipropetrovsk region, according to a cooperation agreement signed by Ukrainian Vice Premier and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov and Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Vilkul in Dnipropetrovsk on Sept. 12.

The sides agreed on cooperation to develop the road network in Dnipropetrovsk region. First of all, this refers to completion of the construction of the second and third stages of the bypass road around Dnipropetrovsk by 2013, and the construction of the right-bank ramps from the Kaidatsky Bridge by 2014.

"Cooperation between the ministry and the regional administration should help to develop the infrastructure of Prydniprovska railways to speed up cargo inspections, as well as ensure comfortable travel for passengers," reads the agreement.

The document also envisages the completion a further stage of the Dnipropetrovsk subway by the end of Q1, 2015: the city will gain three new subway stations – Muzeina, Tsentralna, and Teatralna.

In addition, under the contracts, the sides are obliged to modernize the rolling stock of the municipal electric transport in Dnipropetrovsk, Kryvy Rih, and Dniprodzerzhynsk.

The sides also agreed to improve motor transportation in Dnipropetrovsk and Kryvy Rih via the transportation of passengers in larger capacity buses.

The agreement expires in 2015.
