The press center of the Ukrainian army operation in the country's southeastern region claims that the Ukrainian army's positions in Donbas allegedly came under fire 109 times on Friday, and residential areas were also shelled.

In a report posted on its Facebook page on August 1, the press center said that “the situation remained tense overnight. The adversary increased the number of strikes against the positions of Ukrainian forces near Donetsk and Artemivsk.”

The press center also claims that weapons supposed to be withdrawn from the contact line were allegedly used against the Ukrainian Armed Forces from 06:00 p.m. on Friday until midnight, and 120mm mortars were allegedly fired on Ukrainian checkpoints near the village of Pisky from 07:35 p.m. until 10:50 p.m. on July 31, and strikes using 120mm mortars were conducted twice against the town of Avdiyivka.

Tanks were allegedly fired against the Ukrainian army’s positions near Opytne at 08:50 p.m., armored personnel carriers at 09:10 p.m., and 120mm mortars at 11:20 p.m., it said. Furthermore, tanks were fired on the village of Mykolayivka near Artemivsk at 07:00 p.m. and 09:00 p.m., it said.

The press center also claims that 109 strikes were conducted against the Ukrainian army’s positions in Donbas, including 70 near the city of Donetsk, on July 31.

“After midnight on August 1, the adversary continued to fire almost all types of weapons in the Donetsk area,” it said.
