You're reading: Interests of land plot owners should be considered in land reform, says Yanukovych

Kyiv - The main task in the course of the land reform is to take into account the interests of land plot owners, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has said when talking with the residents of the Novi Petrivtsi village (Kyiv region).

“We want to carry out the reform without infringing the interests of land plot owners. This is the main issue,” the press service of the head of state said.

Yanukovych noted that now the land reform is frozen due to a lack of consensus among various political forces. However, he said that the land cadastre has been launched and land accounting is being held.

“We are gradually moving forward,” said the president.

According to him, the important issue is the operation of the Land Bank, in which land plot owners will be able to receive dividends.

“Land will never be cheaper,” said Yanukovych.
