A leader of illegal armed groups operating in eastern Ukraine, Igor Bezler (nicknamed "Bes"), is currently in Russia, at the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, Zorian Shkiriak, has said.
“According to our operational data, the information that we can
currently confirm is that one of the most famous Russian terrorists
operating in Ukraine, Colonel Igor Bezler of the Russian security
services, is in the building of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the
General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. He is now there. We will
soon see and hear about his fate,” he said at a briefing on July 29.
There were earlier media reports that Bezler had allegedly been killed.
