A criminal case against former Ukrainian Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn was closed on December 12, 2012 due to the absence of evidence of a crime, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's media liaisons office has reported.

In addition, the office said that the former minister had been removed from the international wanted list.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office stopped the proceedings against Danylyshyn due to the absence of evidence of a crime, and in this regard, he was removed from the wanted list at its request,” the ministry said.

As reported, Danylyshyn, who served as economy minister in the government of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in 2007-2010, was put on the national and international wanted list in August 2010. He was detained in the Czech Republic at Interpol’s request on October 19.

The Czech Republic granted political asylum to Danylyshyn. The Ukrainian side had insisted on his extradition.
