You're reading: Interior Ministry: Fingerprints from body of man resembling Mazurok identical to those found at murder scene in Karavan

Checks have found that the fingerprints of a man resembling Yaroslav Mazurok, who is suspected of killing three security guards in the Karavan shopping mall in Kyiv, are identical to fingerprints taken during the inspection of the murder scene. 

“The checks of criminal records found that the fingerprints of a man who was found dead on November 7, 2012 in a forest are identical to the fingerprints taken during the inspection of the scene of the murder of security guards in the Karavan trade and entertainment center,” the media liaisons office of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported on November 8.

According to the ministry, law enforcers found in a pocket of the deceased man the passport of Yaroslav Mazurok, a Ukrainian citizen born on June 13, 1974, a technical certificate for a Jawa motorbike, as well as Mazurok’s a driver’s license and identification certificate.

The police also found a gun with one spent cartridge in the cylinder.

“Investigative and operational activities are currently being conducted to establish all of the circumstances of the man’s death, including the places where the suspect was hiding after the crime,” the ministry said.
