You're reading: Interior Ministry: Robert Fletcher duped Ukrainians out of $65 million

The founder and president of the Global Systems Training, U.S. citizen Robert Fletcher made at least UAH 500 million by duping 1,783 Ukrainians, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies said.

The police central investigation department received 84 applications demanding Fletcher’s criminal prosecution, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on Thursday. Investigators recognized as victims and interviewed 18 people.

Complains about Fletcher’s wrongdoing were received from the Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv regions and Sevastopol.

Most applications (37) were received from Kyiv.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has appealed to other victims of Fletcher’s fraud to come forward.

It was reported that on November 23, 2008, police detained Fletcher on suspicion of fraud. A criminal case was launched over Fletcher’s fraudulent activities (Article 190 part 4 of the Penal Code).

Fletcher offered to Ukrainians paid training, which was advertised on billboards across Ukraine.
