Director of the Communication Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Gerry Rice has confirmed that the IMF Executive Board is to consider the first review of the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA)for Ukraine on Aug. 29.

A meeting of the Executive Board on the first revision of the SBA is scheduled for tomorrow, he said at a press briefing in Washington on Aug. 28 .

As always, after the meeting there a press release will be published. In the case of the approval of the SBA’s prolongation, loan funds will arrive in Ukraine within a few days, he said.

On the agenda of the Executive Board’s meeting will be not only the fulfillment by Ukraine of the IMF’s requirements, but also the growing risks for the SBA.

In case of the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine, the SBA should be reviewed, including the possibility of additional funding, he said. The degree of uncertainty in Ukraine remains very high, it is difficult at the moment to say anything about the nature of possible adjustments, he added.
