You're reading: International partners trust in Ukraine as authorities conducting responsible policy – Poroshenko

Ukrainian authorities are responsibly pursuing their policy that inspires confidence among international partners, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stated.

“Over the year we have consolidated the world’s aid and solidarity with Ukraine through our responsible and effective policy. And Greece had full support of the whole world, unlimited access to the resources of the European Central Bank, unrestricted access to EU programs, provided for EU member states, which are ten-fold larger than opportunities Ukraine can count on,” the president said in an interview with Channel Ukraina on Friday night.

According to him, Greece, as a result of its “not very responsible behavior,” found itself in isolation, foreign markets were closed for it and the Greek people had to pay for this.

“And quite opposite, as a result of our efficient actions foreign markets were open for Ukraine,” he added.

At the same time, Poroshenko said Ukraine, in contrast to Greece, is in a state of annexation, aggression, military operations.

“Just yesterday the IMF made the decision to issue an extra $1.8 billion to Ukraine. Yesterday I signed the law that allows obtaining EUR600 million of macro-financial assistance,” he said.
