Investigators prove $2 million transferred from Tymoshenko, Lazarenko firms to Scherban's killers

Investigators have proved that over $2 million was transferred from the financial accounts of companies controlled by former Prime Ministers Yulia Tymoshenko and Pavlo Lazarenko to the accounts of those who executed the killing of MP Yevhen Scherban in 1996, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka has said. "There is every reason to question certain individuals again, hold face-to-face meetings... Investigators have already proved that more than $2 million was transferred from the financial accounts of companies controlled by Tymoshenko and Lazarenko to the accounts of the executors of the murder. Moreover, shares in an industrial facility were transferred to the ownership of the killer's wife," he said in an interview with the Focus magazine, which was published on Friday.

He said that if evidence indicating that Tymoshenko was involved in contract killings is collected, she will be brought to justice.

"How much time it takes to collect the evidence depends on the investigators," he added.
