The adoption of the national budget for 2015 is critically important to the economy of Ukraine and to its international partners, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko said.

“It’s critically important to pass this budget by the end of the current year. The situation is very complicated, and we won’t be able to pay pensions and wages without that budget. I ask parliamentarians to meet us halfway and realize < > that we need this budget already, today, to have a stable start for next year and to assure our partners that we’ve got an action plan approved by the parliament to stabilize the financial system in 2015. Only in that case we’ll be able to hope for any support and assistance from our international partners,” she said at a briefing on Dec. 26.

The budget has been critiqued, and it will be finalized through consultation and discussion in parliamentary committees.

“The budget cannot be liked by everybody. This is simply an impossible option,” she said.
