Representatives of the joint mission of the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank discussed the situation in Mariupol with the city's authorities on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Mariupol Mayor Yuriy Khotlubey met with Vilaliy Kuchynsky and other representatives of the UN and the World Bank, the Mariupol City Council website reported.

Kuchynsky and his colleagues reported that the aim of their visit was to assess the ways to restore peace in eastern Ukraine, in both short and long term. Among the areas of interest, they named the work of local authorities with internally displaced persons, obtaining reliable first hand data about the extent of damage or loss as a result of military operations, as well as learning the current situation in the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to the Web site.
