MOSCOW - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin has expressed hope that his upcoming contacts with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine will promote the process.

“It is early to speak of any concrete results so far, we have only started contacting. This will be the third meeting. But we expect that this channel of communications will be very productive and will facilitate the settlement of most complex problems of the Ukrainian crisis,” he said to Interfax.

The Russian diplomat confirmed that his meeting with Nuland is most likely to take place in Switzerland on July 9 noting that the specific city where the talks will take place has not been chosen yet.

The upcoming meeting “will discuss the selfsame questions related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Karasin said.
