Moscow - The Russian Foreign Ministry has called for further work by the contact group on the situation in Ukraine.

“We urge the establishment of stable direct contacts between Kyiv, Donetsk and Luhansk and further work of the contact group,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said in the Federation Council on Jan. 26.

Karasin reiterated that Russia “is having active dialogue with its partners, including consultations with the foreign ministers of the ‘Normandy format.'”

He also said “certain progress seemed to have been made” in the past negotiations, “which, unfortunately, was not implemented.”
