Kharkiv international airport is in talks on launching additional flights, which will be performed after the switch to the winter schedule from October 28, 2012, the press service of DCH Company, which via New Systems AM manages the airport, has reported.

“We’re in constant communication with various carriers, expanding geography of direct flights from Kharkiv. At present, talks with some airlines whose flights could be included in the winter schedule, are underway,” reads the report, citing New Systems AM CEO Volodymyr Vasylchenko.

He said that this concerns direct flights on the Kharkiv-Krakow and Kharkiv-Baku routes, which are being discussed now and several other flights to new destinations.

“As for ‘resort’ routes, their summer set will be changed to a winter one. Flights to Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and other cities will be added. The schedule is drawn up in line with realistic demand of our passengers for flights on certain routes,” Vasylchenko said.

Kharkiv airport has a runway 2,220 meters long and 50 meters wide, and two passenger terminals with capacities of 100 and 650 passengers per hour respectively.

DCH was created on the basis of assets under the name of UkrSibbank Group after two partners of the group (Oleksandr Yaroslavsky and Ernest Haliyev) decided to separate their assets.

The group has assets in the spheres of industry, finance, construction and related sectors such as construction materials and development.

Among the assets controlled by DCH are construction and development assets, the Kharkiv-based Metalist Football Club, and Kharkiv Airport.
