KHARKIV - Kharkiv Regional Council, at the request of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine, has agreed to the sale at auction of special permits for subsoil use on a number of deposits in the region.

The relevant decisions were made at a meeting on August 27.

The deputies agreed to the sale of special permits for subsoil use for geological study, including the research and commercial development of shale gas on the Zakhidno-Hutska, Lozovska, Murafinska and Hersevanivsko-Brytaiska fields, as well as special permits for subsoil use with further oil and gas extraction (industrial mining) on the Pivdenno-Kyivska field.

The relevant decisions state that the agreements are conditional on the inclusion in the terms of sales at auctions of the enterprise’s obligations to participate in the economic and social development of the territories in question and registration of a business, and the requirement to obtain a special permit in the territory where the deposit is located – namely Kharkiv region.
