Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has reappointed Volodymyr Khomenko head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration.

The president first dismissed Khomenko as Chernihiv regional governor due to the termination of the previous president’s tenure and then reappointed him to the same post, according to the decrees signed and posted on the presidential Web site on Tuesday.

Khomenko, born in 1959, headed Brovary district state administration in 1997-1999.

In 1999-2002, he served as head of the State Tax Administration’s branch in Kyiv region.

In 2002-2005, he was a deputy head, then first deputy head of the State of Affairs Department, which was then led by Ihor Bakai.

In 2005-2007, he was a deputy head, and then first deputy head of the State of Affairs Department led by Ihor Tarasiuk.

Since July 2007, he has been acting head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration. In October 2007, then president Viktor Yuschenko appointed Khomenko head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
