Livadia - The Ukrainian government is taking into account the wishes of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in particular, in the question of bringing tariffs for housing and utility services to an economically justified level, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has said.

He said at a press conference as part of the third Black Sea Economic Forum, which opened at the Livadia Palace on Thursday, that these tasks must be carried out under a joint program.

“Of course, the government is very attentive to the wishes of the International Monetary Fund and, of course, the tasks envisaged in a joint program must be fulfilled. The question is when they will be fulfilled, and how,” he said.

Khoroshkovsky also added: “We have the question of bringing the tariffs to prime cost and an economically justified level. Of course, this task is very important to us, but we understand quite well that on the other hand there is the social security of the public to be considered, and the government’s task is to make sure the public is not affected.”
