Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and EU Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom discussed in Brussels on Monday, Nov. 17 the future development of trade relations between Ukraine and the EU, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Monday, Nov. 17.

“The sides exchanged views on the further development of trade relations between Ukraine and the EU under the regime of autonomous trade preferences, as well as on the introduction of measures to prepare for the beginning of the operation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area from Jan. 1, 2016,” reads the report.

Particular attention was paid to possible steps by the EU aimed at additional support for Ukraine’s export potential.

In addition, Klimkin invited Malmstrom to visit Ukraine in the near future.
