You're reading: Kliuyev brothers deny reports they broke Austrian law

A copy of a bank document published by mass media on the alleged hiding of the status of Politically Exposed Persons (РЕР) by Ukrainian lawmaker Serhiy Kliuyev and his brother, Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Kliuyev, is a fake, the press service of Serhiy Kliuyev has reported.

“Neither Serhiy nor Andriy Kliuyev ever signed it [the bank
document]. We’re ready to give assistance in establishing the source of
origin of the document,” reads the report.

Commenting on information that CEE Clean Economic Energy AG, which
owns assets in the solar power energy sector of Ukraine, belongs to the
Kliuyev brothers, they said that this is information of 2010, and it is
out of date and untrue.

“CEE Clean Economic Energy AG was sold in December 2012 and it does not belong to any member of the Kliuyev family,” they said.

According to the statement, all assets, property, vehicles, financial
savings, and incomes of the Kliuyev brothers and members of their
families are reflected in their declarations and all taxes are paid from
these incomes.

According to the statement, the appearance of the article is the
continuation of the targeted and consistent information campaign aimed
at discrediting the Kliuyev brothers.

They said that they do not take part in management of companies, the owners of which they are, as required under Ukrainian law.

“Slav AG manages all of the assets of the Kliuyev family, the
structure which is in line with global standards of corporate
management,” reads the statement.

According to the statement, companies with which Slav AG operates,
among which are banks, including foreign banks, know that beneficiary
owners of the group are so-called РЕРs, and all operations are checked
with special attention, including by international auditors from the Big
Four.

“Thus, accusations that they violated any, not only Austrian or European laws, are absolutely groundless,” reads the document.

The brothers added that all proceedings by Austrian law-enforcement
agencies were terminated many months ago due to the absence of facts of
violation.
