The value of Ukraine's gas transport system (GTS) is estimated at between $25 billion to $35 billion, NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Andriy Kobolev said at a briefing in Kyiv on July 23.

“The entire value of Ukraine’s GTS is between $25 billion to $35 billion. This big gap is due the fact that there is a question as to estimating how much this asset earns. This will determine which border – the upper or the lower – the final figure will go to,” he said.

Kobolev said that the value of Ukrgazvydobuvannia, which is wholly owned by Naftogaz, also depends on its revenues, which is determined by gas prices.

“At the current price of gas, it’s good if Ukrgazvydobuvannia is worth $1 billion, but if a market price is taken, its value will exceed $10 billion,” Kobolev said.

As was reported, Ukraine conducted the assessment of its GTS during the previous government, but the final results of the evaluation were not made public.
