Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski has said that Poland is ready to provide expert support for Ukraine in implementing the Association Agreement with the European Union and conducting reforms, the press service of the Ukrainian president reported on Aug. 24.

“I consider the signature of the Association Agreement a great success for Ukraine and the EU. The Republic of Poland consistently recognizes the right of Ukraine to try to take a place in the community of democratic European states. I confirm the readiness to further provide support of Polish experts in the implementation of the Association Agreement, approximation to visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, holding of other reforms that will modernize the state, including local government reform,” he said.

Komorowski congratulated Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainian people on Ukraine’s Independence Day. In his congratulatory letter, he wished a speedy restoration of peace and stability in the whole of Ukraine.

“Poland unequivocally condemns Russian aggression – occupation of Crimea and support for separatists in the east, as well as any other actions that damage the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Recent violation of the international law with the use of a Russian convoy with humanitarian assistance causes deep concern,” he said.

Komorowski wished Poroshenko and the people of Ukraine success in the protection of sovereignty, the restoration of stability and further development of partnership between Poland and Ukraine.

“I am convinced that our good neighborly relations will develop regardless of external factors,” he said.

Komorowski also invited Poroshenko to pay an official visit to Poland.
