Ukraine hopes for Germany's assistance in the preparation for the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said. 

Speaking about the results of his meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Kyiv on Friday, June 21 morning, he said that he had briefed his German counterpart about the steps taken by Ukraine to facilitate the signing of the Association Agreement. “I informed Mr. Minister both about the positive developments as well as the issues that Ukraine has not been able to solve in order for the agreement to be signed. And I asked for the assistance in dealing with these issues,” Kozhara told journalists in Kyiv on Friday.

The Ukrainian foreign minister stressed that Germany’s position on many issues will be crucial.

Kozhara also told reporters that next time he will meet with Westerwelle in Berlin on July 2, 2013.
