Ukraine welcomes the decision of the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament to prolong the observation mission of former European Parliament President Pat Cox and former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski to Ukraine until autumn 2013, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said.

“We attach great importance to the work of this mission,” the minister said in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said the mission was an important line of communication between the European institutions and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

“The prolongation of this mission until autumn will contribute to further informing of European institutions about the situation in Ukraine,” he said.

As reported, the European Parliament’s monitoring mission of former European Parliament President Pat Cox and former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski to Ukraine has been extended through September 2013.
