BRUSSELS - OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier has said that initially a cease-fire deal has been performed better by two conflicting sides on the east of Ukraine than it is being done on Nov. 12.

At the initial stage the observance of the ceasefire was better, with less violations that we can notice in the last couple of weeks, he told the journalists in Brussels on Nov. 12.

Zannier also said that from the moment a ceasefire regime was reached the separatists have managed to move the separating line to the west.

There is no a ceasefire line per se, but if you look at the positions of the two sides in September and now, you’ll see that this line moved to the west, he said. That is, there have been the tremors from the separatists, fairly successful ones, since they won territory, in some places dozens kilometers, somewhere less, the OSCE secretary general stressed.

Moreover, Zannier reiterated that all parties must comply with its commitments under the Minsk Agreement because the organization can’t help the warring parties if they do not want to help it, he said.
