Kyiv City State Administration plans to open two new stations of the Kyiv subway - Odeska Ploscha and Ipodrom - in November 2012.

"We want to construct another two subway stations, Ipodrom and Odeska Ploscha, faster. We have started working on this. We proposed that the subway developers open these two stations by November 6. This is the day of liberation of Kyiv from Nazi occupation. Of course, this would be a great gift to Kyiv residents. The subway developers agreed to this date," the press service said, citing Kyiv City State Administration Head Oleksandr Popov.

According to a press release, the city authorities intend by the first quarter of 2013 to modernize about 50% of the subway rolling stock.
