Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) is negotiating with the World Bank on the issue of attracting a grant to draft a general plan for Kyiv's development until 2025, KCSA Head Oleksandr Popov has said.

"On Friday we will sign a contract with the World Bank on attracting a grant due to the fact that foreign consultants will be involved in work on this program," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He said that the general plan for Kyiv’s development until 2025 would be drafted only at the expense of borrowed funds, without any budgetary spending. He noted that this work would also be financed by the Foundation for Effective Governance. Popov also said that the best domestic experts and scientific institutions would be engaged in drafting the plan.

The drafting of the program is to be completed in May 2011, he added.

"Today we can finally say that we will present a final plan for Kyiv’s development until 2025 before the City Day in May 2011," Popov said.
