The Kyiv city council has stripped the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate of deductions in the payment of land tax.

During the Wednesday debate on the city budget for 2015, 78 deputies voted for a relevant resolution.

The Kyiv city council dropped the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) from the list of religious communities that are granted deductions in land payments tax.

Explaining the need for the decision deputy Oleksandr Kharchenko said that the clergymen of the church engage in “anti-Ukrainian propaganda” in the zone of the military operation in Eastern Ukraine and refuse to perform funeral services for killed Ukrainian servicemen.
