You're reading: Kyiv City Council ups Kyiv budget spending by Hr 660 million

Kyiv City Council has increased Kyiv's budget spending by Hr 659.8 million at the expense of ending funds as of the end of 2012. 

Some 75 deputies voted for this decision at a meeting of the city council on Monday.

According to Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Ruslan Kramarenko, the availability of free funds as of late 2012 on the accounts of the administration is related to the issue of municipal bonds for a total of Hr 1 billion, which came on Dec. 29.

Part of these funds were spent by the end of the year, while the remaining funds remained on the accounts.

According to the decision of deputies, in particular, Hr 40 million will be spent on public road repairs, Hr 51 million on the overhauls of stairwells, lifts, roofs, internal networks and housing joint sealing, Hr 10 million will be used to repair and install children’s playgrounds and sports grounds, Hr 23.23 million to create and restore green space, and Hr 3.6 million to maintain the forested area of the city.

Another Hr 49.5 million is foreseen for environmental activities in 2013.

In addition, spending on the program of social and economic development was increased by Hr 306 million.
