Kyiv officials claimed that militants had attacked the Ukrainian army's positions in Donbas six times last night.

“The situation in the anti-terrorist operation area was generally calm last night. Starting from 1:00 a.m., the adversary sporadically fired small arms on our positions, apparently seeking to provoke us. Terrorists shelled our checkpoint near the Butovska mine near Donetsk twice. The villages of Myronivsk and Mayorsk, located near Artemivsk, also came under fire,” spokesman for the Ukrainian army operation headquarters Anatoliy Stelmakh said.

Mortars were fired against Avdiyivka, Stelmakh said.

There were six truce violations on the part of militants between 9:00 p.m. on March 2 and 5:00 a.m. on March 3, he said.

The town of Pisky came under mortar fire at around 7:00 p.m. on March 2, tanks fired on Avdiyivka at 8:00 p.m., and grenade launchers were fired towards the village of Opytne at 8:20 p.m. An armed clash broke out near the village of Sokolnyky in the Luhansk region.

Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff spokesman Vladyslav Selezniov, for his part, reported that the Ukrainian army’s positions had been attacked 22 times in the past 24 hours.
