You're reading: Kyiv court issues arrest warrants for 11 leaders of anti-government movements in east Ukraine

Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court has issued arrest warrants on suspicion of foundation of a terrorist organization for 11 leaders of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" and "Luhansk People's Republic" at the request of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office, the office said on Monday.

Those to be arrested are the “Donetsk People’s Republic’s” Prime
Minister Oleksandr Borodai, security service chief Oleksandr
Khodakovsky, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policy Oleksandr Kaliusky,
Labor and Social Policy Minister Roman Liahin, Information and Mass
Communications Minister Oleksandr Khriakov, government property manager
Borys Lytvynov, and Economic Development Minister Volodymyr Podhorny,
and the “Luhansk People’s Republic’s” Defense Minister Ihor Plotnytsky,
Interior Minister Yuriy Ivakin, Central Election Commission chief
Oleksandr Malykhov, and parliament chairman Oleksiy Kariakin.
