You're reading: Kyiv denies NATO arms supplies to Ukraine

NATO members are not supplying weapons to Kyiv, Ukraine's permanent representative to NATO Ihor Dolhov said in Brussels on Aug.29 .

“Not one NATO member is supplying weapons to Ukraine,” he told reporters after an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on Aug. 29.

Officials in Kyiv understand that NATO will not be able to conduct a military intervention in Ukraine, he said. “We are not considering this option. What we need is more help, including military help. It is clear that NATO cannot provide Ukraine with troops, nor are we expecting that from its member states,” said the Ukrainian representative.

“We are capable of defending ourselves, but we do need help to stop the aggression,” he said.
