Andrei Vorobyov, the minister-counselor of the Russian Embassy in Kyiv, has been invited to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to be told that his judgments effectively questioning the current constitutional system in Ukraine were unacceptable.

“Vorobyov was invited to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on February
12, 2014, where he was told that his judgments calling into question the
Ukrainian governance system stipulated by the Ukrainian Constitution
are unacceptable, especially considering that they have been circulated
by a diplomat from a friendly state,” Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said.

The Russian diplomat was told that he should refrain from interfering
in internal political processes in Ukraine and meticulously observe the
Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, he said.

“The Russian diplomat in response admitted that his remarks were incorrect,” he said.

It was reported earlier that Vorobyov had suggested at debates
concerning ‘The Federalization of Ukraine: From Split to Unity’ in Kyiv
on Wednesday that Ukraine is informally developing as a federation, as
alternative government bodies have been set up in a number of its
regions. He noted that the talk about Ukraine’s federalization has been
continuing for a long time, but the country has been actually living as a
federation over the past three months.
