You're reading: Kyiv Metropoliten: Over five years and Hr 9 billion required to build subway to Troyeschyna

A total of Hr 8.9 billion will require to build a subway line to Troyeschyna residential area in Kyiv and it will take over five years to realize the project, the press service of Kyiv Metropoliten has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The project for the Podilsko-Vyhurivska subway line from Hlybochytska station to Raiduzhna station with an overpass through Podil District has passed state examination and was approved by a resolution of Kyiv City Administration on May 20, 2008.

The project for the Livoberezhna subway line from Troyeschyna to Osokorky from Myloslavska Street to Livoberezhna subway station with the Troyeschyna locomotive depot in Desniansky and Dniprovsky districts passed state examination and was approved by a resolution of Kyiv City Administration of June 23, 2008.

Kyiv Metropoliten did not say whether there has been a final decision on the Podilsko-Vyhurivska subway passing along Balzak Street or Mayakovsky Street.

"The issue is being settled by Kyiv City Administration," the metro’s press service said.

According to the project, it will take 62 months to build the Podilsko-Vyhurivska and Livoberezhna subway lines.

"Currently it has not been determiend when the construction will start. The territory is being prepared for construction," reads the report.

The estimated cost of the Podilsko-Vyhurivska subway line amounts to Hr 5.506 billion and that for Livoberezhna line – Hr 3.365 billion.

"Thus, the cost of construction of subway to the Troyeschyna residential area is around Hr 8.871 billion," the press service of Kyiv Metropoliten said.
